Christmas in Cefalù

A month of tradition, of exhibits, events and concerts that begins with the procession on 8 December of the Immacolata, the city’s Patron Saint since 1954. On the 13th of December the miracle of Santa Lucia is commemorated, when, in 1645, a busy shoemaker who did not respect the Saint’s wish for abstinence from work that day saw blood gush forth from a hole in the sole of the shoe he was working on. Not once, but three times. That same shoe is exhibited to the public during the Masses celebrated in the church dedicated to Santa Lucia.
